Dear Ms. Nebeker,
I recently read a post you wrote in August of 06, wherein you assert that you are a descendant of the missing child of the Mountain Meadows Massacre. You may be aware of Anna Jean Backus' book 'Mountain Meadows Witness', wherein she makes a similar assertion with respect to her own ancestry. Anna and I share the same gg grandfather Philip Klingensmith, the Mormon Bishop of Cedar City, Utah in 1857. He was a participant in the massacre.
I'm curious if you are related to Anna Jean. I've read her book and have written one of my own about the massacre titled 'WHITE FLAG: America's First 9/11' I've never been able to arrive at the same conclusion Anna Jean arrives at with respect to her lineage. However, I do believe that my gg grandfather may have raised one of the surviving children who would not, in that case, have been returned to Arkansas. I would be most interested in your thoughts regarding these events and how they effect your ancestry.
Sincerely,
Wayne
