My husband pulled out his gospel books since I have suddenly come to the realization that I really don't know enough about my own religion. I was reading a book by Joseph Fielding McConkie (Bruce R.'s son) called Answers: Straightforward Answers to Tough Gospel Questions. It answered a question that I would never have even thought to ask. Growing up in the church we were taught that those not of the tribe of Ephraim would be adopted in. That was sufficient for me. This said that when those not of the tribe of Ephraim were given the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands that it purged their blood and made them literally of the tribe of Ephraim. "WHAT?" Has anyone ever heard of this? Is this official gospel doctrine or it more like remnants of the "Gospel according to Bruce"?
